Searchlight Lighting was founded in 1945 and remains a family owned business now into its third generation. Searchlight Electric are based in Manchester in a purpose built 120,000 sq ft distribution centre. Searchlight supply lighting to approved suppliers of which Lights4Living is one and also service the decorative, hotel, contract and residential lighting markets.

Searchlight also have a joint venture with a Chinese manufacturer which means their products are now sold under the ‘Searchlight’ brand worldwide. Every item is carried to optimum stock levels, assuring that your orders are shipped on time with minimum backorders. Searchlight anticipate needs through constant study of field demand and have allocated over 6 million cubic feet to warehouse finished stock! With over 1,900 incandescent, halogen and fluorescent designs fully catalogued, supported by strategically positioned 115,000 sq ft distribution facilities, Searchlight are the dependable source for all your decorative lighting needs. 

All Searchlight lighting fittings are engineered to meet, or exceed, the standards set by the European Regulations, or British Standards Institute. Their in-house Quality Assurance Department is ably assisted by our team of inspectors based in China and Europe. State of the art metal forming, together with glass bending, brass & sand cast facilities, provide a vast range of decorative lighting. As one of the industry’s largest and most experienced lighting distributors, 10 years ago they made a decision to form their own manufacturing company in China to ensure continuous, regular supplies of unique lighting fittings at competitive prices. Having their own factory enables Searchlight not only to be competitive, but also to deliver goods on time and at prices that customers can afford. Searchlight fittings and components are carefully packed using biodegradable cartons wherever possible and their new colour coded packaging is extremely attractive. Minimum outer packs ensure that all their goods arrive at your home in pristine condition. With the Searchlight buying department working closely alongside their in-house design team they are continually designing, sourcing and selecting new products to suit the coming trends and fashions to give you the widest variety of product.
